Instructor: John Lysaght
4th Degree Black Belt
Mr. John Lysaght, martial arts instructor and entrepreneur, has
been teaching karate USA Karate Martial Arts Schools since 2002. He
started and coached the state-recognized Anoka All Stars tournament
and demo team since 2007.
Mr. Lysaght is a 4th degree black belt who excels in teaching
the intricate details of fighting, forms, and self-defense.
He has long been recognized and awarded for his teaching ability.
Under his leadership, the Anoka AllStars tournament team has placed
among top teams in the State for years, and members have achieved
great success in individual competition. Mr. Lysaght
regularly visits schools and groups throughout the metro area to
teach children the importance of safety awareness, Stranger Danger,
and Might for Right. Mr. Lysaght has expanded his Martial
Art's training by learning Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and Wushu Kung Fu.

Dominick Tuff
3rd Degree Black Belt
Mr. Tuff in karate since July 21st 2001, He started assisting as
a teacher in 2009, but in 2007 he started to help with classes,
When he graduated to 3rd Degree in May of 2010. He specialized in
Teaching and Weapons. Mr. Tuff teachs the weapons class at the
anoka school plus daily classes also. He said he joined karate for
the fun of doing it and has loved it ever since. He is a part of
the top midwest mega teams "The Anoka Allstars" for 5 years now. He
also competed in tournaments for the past 11 years and in 2010
recieved an Outstanding Competitor award. He graduated to his First
Degree Black Belt : May 21st 2005, when he was nine years old and
his 2nd Degree Black Belt in May 2007.

Michaela Dargis
2nd Degree Black Belt
Ms. Dargis started when she was 7 at the anoka school. She Recieved
her 2nd Degree Black Belt in September 2010 and is eagerly looking
forward to recieving her 3rd Degree in 2013 with a specialty in
Forms. She has been on the award wining "Anoka Allstars" mega team
since the start in 2008. She also started competing individually
regularly starting in 2010 with an emphasis in musical forms where
she recieved the Outstanding Competitor award for musical form for
2010-2011. In 2012, she has started to also work on team forms. She
enjoys forms the most, but enjoys all the aspects of karate.

Kaylee Wiskus
2nd Degree Black Belt
Ms. Wiskus started karate on July 17th 2008 and earned her black
belt on October 22nd, 2011. She competes in tournaments,
specializing in traditional open hand form and bo forms. Ms. Wiskus
is one of the top competitors in the state for her age in forms.
She loves working with students of all ages and hopes to be a full
time instructor some day.

Savannah Robertson
2nd Degree Black Belt
Ms. Robertson started karate in 2008. In the four years since she
started, she has been fortunate enough to participate in the
school's advanced mega team, "The Anoka Allstars". Her favorite
areas of karate include forms, in particular bo, and competing in
tournaments. In the future, my goal is to be able to pass on the
training and knowledge that she has been given from her
instructors.

David Kahn
2nd Degree Black Belt
Mr. Kahn's training began in 2008 and he achieved black belt with
his children in 2011. He has competed in several tournaments in
open hand and weapons divisions, having taken first place in black
belt traditional forms and having comoeted for grand champion. His
interests include self defense, physical conditioning, mental focus
and using karate as a positive family activity

Jacob Kahn
2nd Degree Black Belt
Mr. Kahn began his training in 2008 with his family. He recieved
his black belt in 2011 with his two sisters and his father. His
specialty is advanced bo techniques, which he regularly competes
with and is state ranked. Mr. Kahn enjoys helping prepare students
for competitions and graduations. Self Defense and Musical Forms
are among his other martial arts intrests. He has been on the Anoka
Allstars team since 2008.

Amanda Kahn
2nd Degree Black Belt
Ms. Kahn began in 2008 and graduated with her family to black belt
in 2011. She has been on the "Anoka Allstar" team since 2009, she
has competed with two and three person team forms in several
tournaments. body shield drills and jump kicks are among her
favorite martial art activities

Heather Kahn
2nd Degree Black Belt
Ms. Kahn began in 2008 with her family and graduated to black belt
in 2011. She competes with traditional bo and has taken first place
in that division, and she has competed for grand champion. Team
forms are another part of her regular competition, and she enjoys
acrobatics that can be used with creative forms. Ms. Kahn has also
been on the "Anoka Allstars" team since 2009

Alexys Tellinghusen
1st Degree Black Belt
Ms. Tellinghusen is 11 years old and has been in karate since 2008.
The things she enjoys doing are forms and advanced kicks. The
things she is best at are open hand forms, bo forms, and self
defense.

Alex Johnson
2nd Degree Black Belt
Mr. Johnson has placed 1st in various forms divisions in the ncka
and is a member of the award winning USA Karate Anoka Allstars
Tournament Team and has been working on extreme weapons forms and
is currently working on getting his 2nd degree black belt.
